Gangs of New York (2002)
Starring: Leonardo di Carpio, Cameron Diaz and Daniel Day Lewis Directed by: Martin Scorsese If you saw Daniel Day Lewis in "The Last of the Mohicans" you will not be surprised with his acting in Gangs of New York. You'd be more surprised it was Lewis after all, with his make up and antics. Nonetheless, without Daniel, the movie will not be the same. Scorsese again made a masterpiece with this re-visit to old New York with its gangsters and notoriety. Caprio is his usual cross-eyebrow and spouting self. The film is long enough (2 hours 47 minutes) so I'll make this short. Watch it. But break the film into two to appreciate. |
