Starring: Diane Lane Directed by: Audrey Wells Based on the book of Frances Mayes I've been to Tuscany and this movie made me want to go back and relieve the experience. Frances Mayes, after a hurting divorce took the gift of friends to visit Tuscany in Italy. That decision led to many discoveries about not just how beautiful the place is, or how friendly strangers can get - but also of one self. The movie had great scenery, much like what we see in Tuscany books or calendars, moreso it showed Tuscany in 4 seasons. The same way, Frances Mayes transformed from a distraught wife, to a frustrated tourist to a heartbroken lover and to a willing supporter for friends. A date movie with great witty script. So if you're not easily impressed with great scenery and cinematography, then the book would be a great alternative. |
