About Schmidt (2002) Starring: Jack Nicholson, Hope Davis, Dermot Mulroney and Kathy Bates
Directed by: Alex Payne
If only for Kathy Bates' drop jaw steaming topless scene, this film is already a winner.
Warren Schmidt lost a loving wife, retired from a job, was about to bring a daughter to the altar and wanted to rediscover himself along the way. The crossroads were enough to break any ordinary man, Schmidt only had a stiff neck and back. He was able to go over the hump - and that's all about Schmidt.
Acting from Jack was usual - utterly the best. But the storyline was usual. The direction was not much needed with Nicholson around. The movie was ok and the ending was moving. 2 hours may be too long for you to wait for the ending. You can miss it if you want to.
